How BBX Rankings Work

BBX separates local consistency from achievement across communities. Exact calculations run securely on the server; eligibility and every awarded result remain understandable to players.

Community Ranking

Separate leaderboard inside each subscribed community.
Official events can qualify even below 32 players.
Points reflect final achievement or elimination stage.
Participation alone does not automatically earn points.
Results never transfer into another community leaderboard.

32+ players

Global Ranking

Compares verified players across BBX communities.
Requires at least 32 qualified unique verified players.
Considers final achievement, event size, and approved structure.
Only completed and finalized eligible events award points.
Exhibition and double-entry events always award zero points.

Ranking FAQ

Can one tournament award both kinds of points?

Yes. A subscribed community event may award Community Points and, when it satisfies every Global requirement, Global Points.

Why did an event award no Global Points?

It may have fewer than 32 qualified unique verified players, be an exhibition, use double entry, or not satisfy the approved competitive structure.

Can organizers choose a different Top Cut?

Yes. BBX recommends a Top Cut from the final player count before Swiss Round 2. The organizer may keep another supported choice, but it can affect automatic Global eligibility.

Do Free Community events affect rankings?

No. Their results remain in history, but they never award Community or Global Points and are not scored retroactively after an upgrade.

Does double entry count twice?

It uses two event slots but remains one unique person. Enabling double entry makes the entire event an unranked exhibition.

Can points change later?

Only through an authorized correction, disqualification, or successful appeal. The reason and before/after values are retained in the audit log.

Why is the exact formula private?

BBX publishes the eligibility factors, awarded points, and safe reasons while protecting the complete calculation and anti-farming controls.
